I carried a corporate bag every single day for 6 years.

And every single one of them let me down.

The strap dug into my shoulder after an hour. The bag was heavy before I even packed it. The straps were too short for my winter coat on and off, on and off, all day. Decorative hardware everywhere, adding weight for no reason.

I kept buying new bags hoping the next one would be different. It never was.

So in 2025, I stopped buying. I started building.

My name is Sushmita Roy . I'm the founder of Troveaa and I built this brand because the bag I needed simply didn't exist.

Building Troveaa wasn't quick. It wasn't easy. And it definitely wasn't cheap.

Before I shipped a single bag, I worked with three different manufacturers. I rejected the first sample too heavy. I rejected the second straps still wrong. I went back again and again until every detail was right.

Here are the five specific changes I made before I was satisfied:

① The strap is 3cm wider than standard. Not a style decision. A shoulder decision. Thin straps concentrate all the weight on one line. A wider strap distributes it. No marks. No pain after a long day.

② Padding only where the strap meets your shoulder. Most bags pad the entire strap  which adds stiffness and weight for no reason. Troveaa pads only where it actually sits on your shoulder. Lighter. More comfortable. Smarter.

③ The strap drop is longer than standard. I got tired of wrestling my bag over my winter coat every single morning. I lengthened the drop by 2–3cm. It sounds small. It changes everything.

④ All decorative hardware removed. Chains, loops, decorative buckles  they look nice in photos and add dead weight in real life. I removed every piece that didn't serve a function. Only the zip and the logo remain.

⑤ Structure without the weight. The first sample was perfectly structured but heavy as a brick. I worked with the manufacturer to remove the excess internal padding keeping the shape, losing the weight. The bag weighs under 1kg before you pack it.

Not a fashion brand that decided to make bags. A woman who carried bags for 6 years, got frustrated enough to do something about it, and spent months obsessing over details that most brands never even think about.

Every bag is personally inspected before it ships. Every detail has a reason. Every reason came from a real problem I felt myself.
